The Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews

Since I am now waking up twice a night and find myself wide awake sometimes, I am reading more. I just finished a great book titled "The Traveler's Gift" by Andy Andrews. It is a very easy read and encouraged me so much. I wanted to share one of my favorite parts. This section really made me think. As we have been anticipating Will's arrival, we have felt such abundance from God. I never want to forget to express my gratitude for this wonderful blessing God has given us.

Here is the part I loved..."My God has bestowed upon me many gifts, and for these I will remember to be grateful. Too many times I have offered up the prayers of a begger, always asking for more and forgetting to give thanks. I do not wish to be seen as a greedy child, unappreciative and disrespectful. I am grateful for sight and sound and breath. If ever in my life there is a pouring out of blessings beyond that, then I will be grateful for the miracle of abundance."

I hope this encourages you as much as it did me!

About 3 months left...

Our due date is 3 months from today. I know people say time flies, but time lately has flown more like the speed of light than the speed of sound. It has been a little harder to sleep lately and my feet get pretty swollen at night, but it has been a great pregnancy overall. We are putting the finishing touches on the nursery and getting excited about showers. I hope to get some reading done on how to help Will learn to sleep through the night and baby stuff overall. We would greatly appreciate your continued prayers for Will to be healthy and for the delivery to go smooth.

We will post pictures of the nursery when it's all done. We still have a little time. My goal is to have everything in order at least a month before his due date, that way we can rest as it gets close to his arrival. (at least that's my hope) If you know me, I always have a plan, but sometimes God has other plans, so we will see what happens. :)

This pregnancy is coming along well. Will has been kicking like crazy today, so that has been so much fun!

Predictions

Predictions….
So, everyone thought they knew what sex our child would be. In light of just finding out, I thought it might be fun to share some of the predictions different people had and what their reasons were. Some of them are really cute…
Meriam – thought it was a boy because I was not very sick and my Mom wasn’t sick with my two brothers.
Geremy – thought it was a boy because of Papa’s dream. And the ultrasound from 9 weeks, 5 days – maybe that wasn’t the umbilical cord.
Papa – had a dream of running and playing with a little boy.
Sarah (sister) – thought it was a boy because she wanted her big sister to have a boy.
Jessica – thought it was a boy (don’t have her reason yet).
Mom (Meriam’s) – thought it was a boy for same reason Meriam did.
Kailey Walker – thought it was a girl because she was going to play with her and wouldn’t play with a boy (in her words).There are countless others that I can’t remember, but it was very fun. We are very excited to be having a son!

It's a Boy!

It has been too long. We are going to try to update the blog several times this week to make up for the lack of activity the last nine weeks. It is official…It’s a boy! We had our ultrasound this past Friday. The nurse asked us if we wanted to know what we were having and then within seconds, there was the evidence on the screen of our little boy. It really was amazing to see him. He weighed 10 ounces and the Doctor said everything looked great. We saw the heart, brain, kidney, stomach, spinal cord, arms, legs, and so on. It seems like we could see everything. We could even see the umbilical cord. These were moments we will never forget. All I could think about when we were looking at the screen was, “I can’t believe it’s actually happening.” It seems like we have wanted this for so long and now it is actually coming true. I will share about this in another post. We want to thank you all for all your prayers over the years.
